Snickers Apple Salad

1 5 oz package vanilla instant pudding

1.5 cups cold milk

1 8 oz container Cool Whip

6 green Granny Smith apples

6 chilled snickers bars

Whisk pudding and milk together until smooth.  Let sit for about 5 minutes.  When the pudding is set, gently fold in the Cool Whip until combined.  Put in refrigerator to chill while you chop the remaining ingredients.

Core and slice apples (an apple cutter works great here!) into bite sized pieces and then do the same with the candy bars.  I cut the candy bars into thirds length wise and then cut them into small pieces cross ways.

Gently fold the pudding/Cool Whip mixture into the apples until apples are well coated.  Chill for a couple of hours before serving.

Optional:  Drizzle caramel ice cream topping and chopped peanuts over the top.

Gotta be healthy with all those apples, right??

Banana Pudding

When my husband was stationed in Montgomery, Alabama with the U.S. Army his company often had potlucks and this dish was ALWAYS requested and every last drop of it was gobbled up.  It’s easy enough to make so I always obliged.

1 – 5 oz package instant vanilla pudding
2 c cold milk
1 – 14 oz can sweetened condensed milk
1 Tbsp vanilla extract
1 – 12 oz container whipped cream
1 – 16 oz package Nilla wafers
6 – 10 bananas, sliced (depending on how much banana you like)

In a large mixing bowl, beat pudding mix and milk for 2 minutes.  Blend in condensed milk until smooth.  Stir in vanilla pudding and fold in whipped cream.  Layer:  wafers, bananas, pudding mixture (ending with crumbled wafters on the top) in a glass serving bowl (trifle bowl works well).  Chill until ready to serve.

Note:  I like to crumble the wafers on the bottom and top layers and leave them whole in the middle layers.
